Your Android phone can be a powerful device, the downside of which means that it can eat up a lot of energy and run out of power quickly. However, there are ways to minimize your power usage without limiting your Android's capabilities. We'll show you some easy ways to extend your Android's battery and monitor what uses your power in this tutorial.

· From your home screen, tap the Menu key then choose Settings. Go to Battery use where you can see what's been using your Android's battery.
· Display should be the first item, followed by Android System. Beyond those two, the list will vary based on your own use.
· If you find an application that's taking more than its fair share of your battery, check the application's settings to see what might be using up your battery.
· If your application notifies you frequently, or gives feedback in the form of vibration, these settings can often be changed to cut down on battery consumption.
· The Power Control widget can also help greatly. From the homescreen, press and hold an empty space, then choose Widget. Scroll to find the Power Control widget and then tap to add.
· This five-panel widget offers a one-tap way to turn battery draining services like Wi-Fi, location and sync. It also offers a simple way to change your screen brightness.
· When you're not using Wi-Fi, tap to turn it off. Same goes for Bluetooth, location pinpointing and sync. You can also simply tap the panel to turn it back on when needed.
